What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weber Golf Course Starter position at SKOKIE PARK DISTRICT?
The Weber Golf Course Ranger/Starter is responsible for verifying that all golfers have paid applicable fees, and advises golfers when to start a the first tee. In addition, monitors the speed of play on the golf course.
- Request that patrons of the Weber Golf Course present their payment receipts and confirms that they have paid applicable golf fees.
- Organizes and starts golfers a the first tee.
- Delivers excellent customer service to the patrons of Weber Golf Course.
- Oversees the rate of play.
- Educates patrons of golf course etiquette and USGA rules.
- When needed, administers Junior Proficiency Test to youth golfers.
- Operates golf cart when needed in a safe manner.
- Monitors water coolers to be sure that they are filled and that cups are available for patron use.
- Promptly answers Weber Golf Course patron inquiries in a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable manner.
- Communicates to supervisor any Weber Golf Course problems that need to be resolved.
- Actively enforces the rules and regulations of Weber Golf Course.
- Assists with first aid and with the care of injured patrons.
OTHER DUTIES
Performs other duties as assigned. Must have strong customer service skills. Must possess excellent computer keyboard skills and excellent verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to handle a high volume of patrons in a friendly, calm and efficient manner. Prior cash handling experience required. Must adhere to and actively enforce the safety responsibilities and safety procedures as outlined in the District's Safety Manual and overall risk management program.
Hours: Daytime, evening and weekend shifts available 7 days per week
** This job fall in paygrade PT2. The target hiring range for this position is beginning at $16 depending on qualifications.

Qualifications:Must be a mature, responsible individual at least 16 years of age. Must have the ability to provide excellent customer service to Skokie Weber Golf patrons. Communicates to supervisor any Golf course problems. Must possess excellent communication skills.Prefer experience working at a golf course.
