Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, including industrial machinery, farm equipment, trucks, and construction vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and equipment. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, and tractor-trailers using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system servicing to prevent breakdowns.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive electrical repairs, sensors, switches, and wiring harnesses.
- Repair transmissions, air brake systems, shocks & struts, HVAC units, and other mechanical systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Use power tools and heavy lifting techniques safely during assembly or disassembly of equipment components.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs for compliance and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a heavy-duty mechanic with dealership or industrial equipment background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, and vehicle systems.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and automotive electrical system repair.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and perform heavy lifting as needed.
- Certification in diesel mechanics or equivalent technical training is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
