Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in new construction and renovation projects.
- Learn to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to support accurate pipe and fixture placement.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, thread, assemble, and install pipes and fixtures according to building codes.
- Support the inspection of plumbing systems to ensure proper function and compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in site preparation activities such as carpentry work, remodeling tasks, and system testing.
- Help maintain a safe work environment by adhering to power tool safety protocols and construction site safety procedures.
- Gain experience in welding, pipe threading, HVAC basics, and other mechanical knowledge essential for a versatile plumbing career.
Qualifications
- Construction experience or exposure to construction sites is preferred but not required; a strong desire to learn is essential.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, pipe installation, and building code compliance is a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, schematics, blueprints reading, and mechanical concepts will support your success.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and material quantities.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail; ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Good physical condition with the ability to stand, lift heavy objects, and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Handyman experience or prior remodeling/maintenance work is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated learners.
