- As a Community Habilitation Specialist, you will support people in recreational, social, and skill-building activities within their homes to achieve their goals while encouraging independence and personal choice.
Community Habilitation Specialist – Duties, And Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 with a person with developmental disabilities to encourage independence as appropriate throughout daily routines and provide opportunities for people to participate in making choices as appropriate.
- Engage participation in recreation, social, and skill-building activities as appropriate.
- Complete documentation electronically as required.
- HS/GED
- Prior experience working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Effective oral and written skills in English.
- Must work positively within a team environment and be able to work independently.
