Join Skin and Aesthetics Center's specialized Mohs surgery team as a Mohs Technician in our North Jersey locations. As part of our healthcare management services organization, this highly specialized position supports our Mohs micrographic surgery program by assisting with surgical procedures and histologic processing to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate has experience in surgical assistance and histology with a strong interest in dermatologic surgery and patient care in a specialized surgical environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical training
- Histology or laboratory experience preferred
- Previous surgical assistance experience
- Mohs surgery experience strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of histologic processing and tissue handling
- Experience with microscopy and tissue evaluation
- Surgical instrument sterilization and maintenance experience
Responsibilities:
- Assist Mohs surgeons during micrographic surgery procedures
- Prepare and process frozen tissue sections for microscopic evaluation
- Maintain surgical instruments and ensure proper sterilization
- Orient and embed tissue specimens for histologic processing
- Assist with wound closure and reconstructive procedures
- Provide patient education and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain surgical suite cleanliness and organization
- Travel between Mohs surgery locations as needed for coverage
Travel Requirements:
- Reliable transportation required for travel between designated Mohs surgery locations
- Primary Location: Bayonne
- Secondary Location: West Orange
Key Skills:
