About the Role:
At Skin and Aesthetics Center, our Medical Receptionists serve as the first point of contact for patients across our network of plastic and reconstructive surgery practices. This role is essential in delivering a high-touch, concierge-level patient experience while supporting the administrative and operational workflows that are critical in a surgical environment.
The ideal candidate is professional, poised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with patients pursuing both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. You will assist with scheduling, patient communication, pre- and post-operative coordination, and overall front-office support while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous healthcare office or customer service experience preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, procedure-driven medical office
• Proficiency with computer systems and multi-line phone systems
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, or specialty care
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic surgical workflows
• Experience with pre-operative and post-operative patient communication
• Familiarity with insurance verification, authorizations, and cosmetic service billing
• Bilingual skills preferred (ability to support diverse patient populations)
• Experience with electronic health records and practice management systems
Responsibilities:
• Greet patients and visitors with professionalism, discretion, and warmth
• Schedule new consultations, follow-up visits, post-operative appointments, and in-office procedures
• Review and verify insurance eligibility for reconstructive services and document requirements accurately
• Provide support for cosmetic procedure inquiries, including pricing, scheduling, and preparation guidelines
• Process patient check-ins and check-outs, including collection of copays, deposits, and cosmetic fees
• Answer multi-line phones, triage calls appropriately, and manage high-volume patient communications
• Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and required imaging or records for surgical cases
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality
• Support pre-operative workflow by providing patients with instructions, consent forms, and preparation requirements
• Assist with post-operative scheduling and communication to ensure smooth follow-up care
• Travel between assigned practice locations to provide coverage as needed
• Support general office operations including filing, data entry, inventory tracking, and maintaining a clean and professional front desk environment
