We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Raw Material Packaging Assistant to join our Production team. This role will support management of packaging and execution —ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery across all SKIMS product categories.
The ideal candidate is process-driven, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong communication skills. You will work cross-functionally with Packaging Design, Product Development, and Supply Chain to maintain accuracy in material libraries, vendor communications, and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in tracking and managing all packaging raw materials, including films, boxes, inserts, labels, and other components.
- Drive and Track sample approval process for new and existing packaging materials.
- Communicate pack outs and dimensions with vendors.
- Maintain and update packaging of raw material databases and bill of materials (BOMs) within production systems.
- Negotiate pricing and finalize sample lead-times.
- Communicate daily with vendors and suppliers to ensure materials meet SKIMS quality and sustainability standards.
- Partner with Packaging Design to ensure that specifications and color standards are accurately translated to production.
- Support the Production team in monitoring material inventory levels, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Assist with testing, quality control, and compliance documentation for all packaging materials.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on new product launches and packaging updates, ensuring materials are approved and available for production timelines.
- Maintain physical and digital material libraries, including swatches, substrates, and color chips for internal reference.
- Drive packaging deadlines for approvals and finalization of production.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support SKIMS’ sustainability goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Production Management, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in production, packaging operations, or materials management, ideally within apparel, beauty, or consumer goods.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in Excel, PLM systems, and ERP tools; experience with Centric, BlueCherry, or similar systems a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and attention to detail, with a hands-on approach to solving problems.
