What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Occupational Therapist position at Skills on the Hill, LLC?
If you've thought about going independent but didn't want to spend a year building a referral base and learning school-system politics, we've already done that part.
Skills on the Hill has provided pediatric OT, PT, and speech services in DC and Northern Virginia since 2003.
We hold DC public charter school contracts with caseloads ready now for 2026–27, and we're contracting with licensed OTs to deliver them.
What the role actually is:
→ You set your availability. We match you to campuses and days that fit.
→ Your methods, your materials, your clinical judgment. No protocols handed down, no required trainings, no supervision.
→ Paid for service delivered — no staff meetings, no productivity targets, no unpaid hours.
→ Group programming pays substantially more per hour than 1:1. → We hold the school contract and handle clearances, documentation, and campus coordination.
What you bring: a DC OT license, your own professional liability insurance and therapy supplies, an NPI and W-9, and genuine comfort working independently.
Caseloads are live and the school year starts in weeks.
