About our Client:

Our client is a late series A gene therapy organization using the emerging tools of genetic medicine to engineer cures for human diseases. They believe these powerful new approaches can be used to treat, or cure, common diseases that afflict large numbers of patients. To realize this vision, they are building therapeutics that modify and control multiple genes at the DNA, RNA, and protein level in vivo. About the Role:

As a Research Associate reporting into the Genomics Group, you will play a central role in sequencing and library preparation operations across multiple internal teams, including Molecular Biology, Genomics, and Bioinformatics, enabling the discovery and development of new genetic medicine therapeutics. You will:

  • Perform plasmid extractions and assess DNA quality and quantity for sequencing readiness
  • Execute restriction digests, ligations, PCR, and SPRI-based cleanups as part of library preparation protocols
  • Operate the Integra Viaflo to run high-throughput library preparation workflows and process large numbers of samples
  • Monitor Oxford Nanopore sequencing runs and perform QC on output data to ensure data quality standards are met
  • Contribute to method development and process improvement to increase throughput and data quality across plasmid sequencing workflows
  • Manage incoming sample requests and coordinate with internal teams to prioritize and maintain sequencing throughput


Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in molecular biology, genomics, or related fields
  • A strong understanding of molecular biology fundamentals with direct experience in plasmid-based workflows including cloning, extraction, and QC for sequencing
  • A track record of delivering high-quality work with strong attention to detail in a high-throughput laboratory environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating an automated liquid handler (Integra Viaflo or similar) for processing large numbers of samples in a high-throughput laboratory environment
  • Prior experience supporting cross-functional workflows or coordinating sample handoffs
  • Experience with Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing platforms and plasmid sequencing workflows
  • Familiarity with LIMS or sample tracking systems for managing high-throughput sample workflows
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage high sample volumes across concurrent workflows in a fast-paced environment

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
