What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Soccer Coach (Part Time) position at Skills After School?
Soccer Coaches Wanted!
Skills After School is an after school soccer program held at local elementary schools and we are seeking experienced soccer players and/or coaches to join us! We are working with kids in VPK through 5th grade and for many of these kids, this is their first experience with soccer.
Our team of coaches spends 1 hour working with different grade groups each week that school is in session. You must love working with kids and enjoy sharing your love and knowledge of soccer with them. They are eager to learn and gain experience!
Each after school session lasts for 1 hour but we need you there 15 minutes before and up to 15 minutes after each soccer coaching session as the children are dismissed. For the right candidates, we will pay you $45 for each session (1.5 hours each session x $30/hr = $45).
The time frame is typically 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm. Currently have openings for coaching on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the Parrish area. We also have openings in the Lakewood Ranch area for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Again, these practices are only when school is in session. When school is closed for holidays, bad weather or other school district closure reasons, there isn’t a soccer session that day.
Basically, each school session has 3 to 6 coaches at each session and we’re hoping you want to be one of them!
We are currently working with 10 elementary schools and are working towards more growth in 2025-2027! Our coaching program runs from September through May and is active when school is in session (no coaching on holidays when school is out).
Qualifications:
- Must be comfortable leading a group of 10 to 15 kids
- Be able to comfortably talk with both parents & children
- Pass a level 2 background check (requires you to have a valid Driver’s License or State ID) - We pay for this and set it all up for you
- Have a background in soccer: playing and/or coaching
