What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Installation Crew Chief (Residential/Light Commercial) position at Skillframe AI?
We’re a Southern Connecticut HVAC company with 50 years of service, and we’re hiring a hands-on leader to guide a tight-knit team of up to three installers.
A day in your bootsIt’s 7:00 AM and you’re rolling out from the shop—most projects are just 15–20 minutes away. You’ve reviewed plans, loaded the van, and rallied your crew. By mid-morning, you’re fabricating clean duct transitions and coordinating with the builder to adjust a layout. After lunch, you’re brazing linesets, pressure testing, pulling a deep vacuum, and commissioning a high-efficiency heat pump—explaining the system in plain language to a homeowner who appreciates your clarity. You wrap at 3:30 PM, and if you want overtime, it’s there—if not, you’re heading home on time.
