About the Role:
Skillforce is seeking Security Technicians with experience in Hirsch Access Control for a project in Richmond, VA. As a Security Technician you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of construction sites through the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems. Your work will directly contribute to protecting valuable assets, personnel, and project integrity by implementing advanced security technologies tailored to the unique needs of each site. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying potential security vulnerabilities and swiftly addressing them to minimize risks. Ultimately, your expertise will help create a secure working environment that supports the successful completion of construction projects on time and within budget.
Pay range: $30-$33/HR (DOE)
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in installing and maintaining security systems, preferably in a construction or industrial environment.
- Proven experience and certified in Hirsch Access Control.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in security system installation or electronics (e.g., NICET, CompTIA Security ).
- Experience with IP-based security systems and network configuration.
- Familiarity with local and national security codes and regulations.
- Previous experience working on construction sites or in the construction industry.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain security systems including surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarms, and motion detectors on construction sites.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of security equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with security hardware and software, performing repairs or coordinating with vendors as necessary.
- Collaborate with construction site management to assess security needs and recommend appropriate technology solutions.
- Document all installation and maintenance activities, prepare reports on system performance, and provide training to site personnel on security system usage.
