We are currently hiring Scenic Carpenters in Milwaukee, WI for upcoming projects. Pay is $34 - $38 per hour based on experience and skillset. The Scenic Carpenter is responsible for constructing and installing platforms for exhibits and decks in a museum setting. This role focuses on precision craftsmanship, reading plans, and preparing materials for installation.
Scenic Carpenter Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and project specifications
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials based on blueprints or shop drawings
- Operate machinery (saws, routers, sanders, drills, etc.)
- Construct and installing platforms for exhibits and decks in a museum setting
- Inspect materials for quality and ensure accuracy of finished products
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field teams
- Perform repairs or modifications to existing structures or components
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
Scenic Carpenter Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpenter or scenic carpenter
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Must have type 2 hard hat, resistance gloves, vest & steel toed boots.
Preferred Skills:
- 6 years of professional carpentry
- Scenic carpentry background
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
