Skillforce is seeking an Estimating Manager for a full-time direct hire position with one of the leading construction companies in the U.S. 

The Estimating Manager is responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated projects, analyzing constructability options, and delivering complete preconstruction packages. The role collaborates closely with operations, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate scopes, competitive pricing, and efficient building strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and review drawings and specifications

• Develop complete cost estimates and bid summaries for all trades

• Solicit, evaluate, and coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing

• Create and manage scopes of work and responsibility matrices

• Incorporate schedule, logistics, and means/methods into estimates

• Support value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities

• Assist with system and component analysis, including MEP

• Participate in procurement presentations and bid-day activities

• Maintain estimating documentation and audit trails

• Mentor and support junior estimating staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)

• 3 years of estimating experience; 5 years total construction experience preferred

• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Knowledge of construction means/methods and field operations

• Experience preparing quantity surveys and general requirement estimates

Compensation & Details

• Base salary: $100,000–$125,000

• Full-time with benefits; relocation assistance available

• Mid–senior level role; frequent travel may be required

• Must be able to work in office 4 days a week

• Office locations available in Kansas City, MO, Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX or Austin, TX
