Skillforce is hiring an experienced Concrete Bridge Maintenance Technician in Alexandria, Virginia. This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled concrete professional who is comfortable working at heights and traveling with a road-maintenance crew.
Concrete Bridge Maintenance Technician Pay:
- $27.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and qualifications.
- Per diem is provided for qualifying travel.
- The client covers lodging and transportation to out-of-town project locations.
Schedule and Travel:
- Minimum of 40 hours per week, with potential overtime. Subject to change.
- Hours may vary based on project and travel requirements.
- Reports to Alexandria, Virginia.
- Overnight travel is required to project locations, including Massachusetts, Delaware, and surrounding areas.
- Employees will travel with the road crew.
Concrete Bridge Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform concrete forming and finishing for bridge and roadway maintenance projects.
- Assist with concrete repairs and general maintenance of bridges and roadway infrastructure.
- Work safely at heights of up to approximately 100 feet using the required fall-protection equipment.
- Perform work near active roadways, traffic-control areas, and lane closures when required.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment to complete assigned work.
- Follow project plans, specifications, and all company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Operate a company vehicle, bucket truck, or man lift after receiving the required training and authorization.
- Travel overnight with the crew based on project needs.
Concrete Bridge Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- Five or more years of concrete forming and finishing experience.
- Strong commercial concrete or heavy-civil construction experience required.
- Bridge maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable working at heights of up to approximately 100 feet.
- Must be willing and able to travel overnight.
- Experience working near interstates, active traffic, or lane closures is a plus.
- Bucket-truck, man-lift, or aerial-lift experience is a plus.
- CDL Class B or higher is preferred but not required.
- OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, fall-protection, and equipment certifications are preferred but not required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the crew and understand safety instructions.
- Must successfully complete the required background check, drug screening, and driving-record review.
The client will provide the required job-specific training, certifications, and PPE.
