Position Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Admissions Director to lead and manage all aspects of the admissions process for our skilled nursing facility. This individual will be responsible for driving census growth, managing referral relationships, and ensuring a seamless transition for residents and families.
The ideal candidate understands Medicare Part A dynamics, managed care relationships, hospital discharge planning, and payer mix strategy. This role directly impacts census stability, revenue performance, and facility reputation within the healthcare community.
Key Responsibilities
Drive census growth and support facility occupancy and payer mix goals.
Evaluate and coordinate incoming referrals to determine appropriateness for admission.
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital case managers, discharge planners, physicians, and community referral sources.
Conduct outreach and represent the facility within the healthcare community.
Review insurance benefits and coordinate managed care authorizations when necessary.
Coordinate admissions with Nursing, Therapy, Social Services, and the Business Office to ensure smooth resident transitions.
Oversee the admissions process from initial inquiry through admission, including facility tours and required documentation.
Maintain accurate tracking of referrals, admissions, and outcomes.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
Prior admissions or marketing experience in a skilled nursing or post-acute setting preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, managed care, and Medicaid processes.
Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
