Resident Care Director (RCD)

Confidential Senior Living Opportunity – Southern, NH

A well-established senior living community in the Sothern, New Hampshire area is seeking an experienced and compassionate Resident Care Director (RCD) to provide strategic and operational leadership for our Nursing Services Department.

This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring exceptional resident-centered care, developing, and supporting the nursing team, maintaining regulatory readiness, and driving strong clinical and quality outcomes.

We are seeking an RN or LPN with strong nursing leadership experience who is ready to take ownership of clinical operations and make a meaningful impact on residents, families, and staff.

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $90,000 – $115,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

 

What You'll Do

Clinical Leadership

  • Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Services Department

  • Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, individualized, high-quality care

  • Conduct resident rounds and proactively identify clinical concerns and opportunities for improvement

  • Participate in resident admissions and evaluate the community's ability to meet prospective residents' clinical needs

  • Monitor incidents, infections, falls, hospitalizations, and other clinical trends

  • Provide direct nursing support when necessary

  • Collaborate closely with facility leadership, physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team

  • Participate in on-call coverage as assigned

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Coach, and retain nursing team members

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing supervisors and frontline staff

  • Complete performance evaluations and provide corrective action when appropriate

  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and professional development

  • Foster strong communication between nursing and other departments

 

Regulatory Compliance & Quality

  • Maintain continuous state and federal survey readiness

  • Lead and participate in regulatory survey preparation and activities

  • Develop and monitor Plans of Correction when necessary

  • Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives

  • Monitor clinical quality indicators and implement performance improvement plans

  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and regulatory records

 

Resident & Family Experience

  • Build positive relationships with residents and families

  • Address concerns promptly, professionally, and compassionately

  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacies, therapy providers, hospice agencies, consultants, and other healthcare partners

  • Promote resident dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Current, unrestricted New Hampshire RN or LPN license required

  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care, assisted living, rehabilitation, or a related healthcare setting

  • Strong knowledge of federal and New Hampshire healthcare regulations

  • Demonstrated experience with staff development, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement

  • Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills

  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and relationship-building abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office
