The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments. This role ensures that all areas of the facility are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition, in compliance with facility standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and laundry materials; order as necessary.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures.
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with hands-on cleaning and laundry duties as needed.
Respond promptly to special cleaning requests and emergency clean-ups.
Collaborate with the nursing and maintenance departments to ensure a coordinated approach to facility upkeep.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping and/or laundry services, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and infection control procedures.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
