Job Overview – Director of Nursing (DON)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations at our skilled nursing facility. The DON will oversee clinical care, supervise nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote quality resident care and safety.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing department operations and staffing.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain high standards of resident care and safety.
- Monitor clinical performance and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to improve operations and staff retention.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BSN preferred; equivalent qualifications considered as applicable.
- Previous nursing leadership experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
