Controller
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
The Controller is a critical leader within the Finance Team and is a key partner to the operational teams of the business. This role requires an ability to proactively anticipate the needs of the business and to drive financial performance to all levels of the organization. This highly visible and impactful role will have the opportunity to develop accounting and financial processes that provide significant benefit to the company and its stakeholders.
- Responsible for all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Manage month-end close and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports
- Partners with operational leaders and their teams to drive financial performance
- Creates and maintains plant level budgets and forecasts
- Analysis of monthly manufacturing variances (spending, labor, scrap, and purchase price)
- Establish annual standard costs for raw materials, work in process, and finished goods
- Develops and maintains business intelligence dashboarding and reporting
- Provides proactive/unsolicited consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
- Collaborates with leadership to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis
- Monitor and implement internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks
- Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CMA a plus
- At least 6 - 8 years of Accounting & Finance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, utilizing advanced formulas and financial modeling techniques
- Experience connecting data and building dashboards within Microsoft Power BI
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Cost accounting experience
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, public groups, peers and staff.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with colleagues, business partners, clients and staff in charge

Work Environment:
Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a moderate noise level. In this position, you are working a full-time schedule, mainly in an office environment, with some time in a manufacturing setting.
