GIS Analyst - QA/QC Support Specialist

As a vital member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of critical mapping data, directly impacting the reliability and efficiency of essential services. Your expertise will be instrumental in validating migrated data, ensuring seamless operations, and contributing to the successful deployment of a cutting-edge GIS platform. This role offers the opportunity to significantly influence the quality and reliability of essential infrastructure data, directly supporting critical operational decisions and long-term planning.

**What You'll Do:**

* Perform extensive data validation through multiple queries to ensure the accuracy of legacy mapping data migrated to a modern Esri mapping system.
* Review land base symmetry, structural connectivity, and cable integrity to maintain data consistency.
* Thoroughly check attribute data for all linear and point features related to electric and gas components.
* Update map symbology and provide innovative symbology solutions as needed.
* Lead comprehensive testing efforts for vendor deliverables, including factory acceptance, system acceptance, and user acceptance testing, ensuring solutions meet specified requirements.
* Act as a key advocate for user needs throughout the testing process, collaborating with development teams to address feedback and enhance system usability.
* Conduct detailed reviews of project documentation, offering insightful comments to improve test plan quality and providing formal approval.
* Utilize industry-standard testing software for effective test planning, execution, and reporting, maintaining meticulous documentation.
* Demonstrate decisiveness in signing off on testing-related requirements and planning documentation, ensuring alignment with project goals.
* Contribute to other related enterprise GIS projects as opportunities arise.
* Develop a deep understanding of the organization's enterprise GIS projects, mapping systems, processes, and relevant software programs.
* Cultivate the ability to interpret various types of electrical and gas maps.

**Must-Have Qualifications:**

* Bachelor's Degree.
* Demonstrated GIS experience.
* Proven knowledge in Esri GIS.
* Proficiency in map document creation, spatial queries, and spatial analysis.
* Experience within a utility environment.
* A self-starter with high motivation, attentiveness, integrity, energy, initiative, and resourcefulness.
* A quick learner capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision.
* Strong analytical skills with a technical background and excellent organizational skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**

* At least two (2) years of experience using Esri GIS platforms.
