Your work will be pivotal in elevating their digital presence and amplifying their mission.

We are seeking a visionary leader to join our client’s team and revolutionize their social media landscape. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team of specialists, crafting the strategic direction for all enterprise social media efforts. Your impact will be immediate and far-reaching, as you define content strategies, develop channel roadmaps across major platforms, and cultivate powerful brand ambassador and influencer programs. You will be the driving force behind compelling digital narratives, ensuring brand consistency, driving engagement, and holding the team to the highest standards of performance and governance. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the digital voice of a leading institution and directly contribute to its growth and outreach.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the co-development of content strategies for each social media platform with your specialist team, aligning on content pillars, messaging, audience segments, and seasonal themes for every planning cycle.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive channel roadmaps across all assigned platforms, including major social media and distinct video-focused platforms; define posting cadences, content format mixes, campaign integration points, and platform-specific priorities based on performance data and audience insights.
  • Conduct quarterly roadmap reviews with key business stakeholders, presenting plans, performance results, and proposed adjustments, and integrating feedback into future planning.
  • Continuously refine content strategy by leveraging performance data from social media management platforms, adapting to platform algorithm changes, and responding to audience behavior trends.
  • Identify and develop strategies for user-generated content (UGC) across all brands and channels, including sourcing guidelines, rights and permissions processes, and approval workflows.
  • Evaluate and recommend potential influencer partnerships and micro-influencer opportunities, assessing reach, engagement quality, audience alignment, and brand fit.
  • Develop and manage brand ambassador programs, defining engagement frameworks, posting guidelines, content co-creation processes, recognition structures, and measurement criteria to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Integrate audience insights, UGC trends, and influencer opportunities into cross-functional planning to support broader marketing, enrollment, and brand-building initiatives.
  • Oversee the monthly content calendar submission process, ensuring timely and complete submissions from specialists for leadership review.
  • Conduct thorough completeness checks on all submitted calendars, flagging and resolving any gaps or inconsistencies before routing for review.
  • Monitor team adherence to established workflows, governance standards, approval processes, and social media management platform usage, promptly addressing any deviations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for process questions, guiding team members to appropriate documentation and workflows.
  • Maintain and update governance documentation, brand voice guides, playbooks, and approval workflows as processes evolve.
  • Administer the social media management platform across all brands and channels, ensuring correct usage, workflow configurations, and permission levels.
  • Monitor platform health, identifying and escalating workflow issues, configuration drift, or misuse.
  • Act as the day-to-day support contact for team members regarding the social media management platform and liaison for vendor support requests.
  • Coordinate content management with external content partners, including asset upload workflows, library organization, and publishing standards.
  • Pull and analyze social performance data from the social media management platform and other designated sources monthly, populating established report templates accurately.
  • Deliver comprehensive monthly performance reports to stakeholders within established deadlines, including content calendar adherence, platform compliance, escalation response times, and engagement performance against benchmarks.
  • Flag data anomalies or performance gaps for leadership review, presenting objective data for informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate review routing for content requiring input from relevant internal stakeholders, tracking approval status and ensuring timely completion.
  • Keep leadership informed of any coordination bottlenecks, delayed approvals, or process breakdowns requiring escalation.
  • Conduct regular audits across various major social media platforms and other online communities to identify groups, forums, and subreddits where current students, prospective students, or alumni are actively discussing the brand.
  • Maintain a discovery log of newly identified communities, including platform, name, estimated size, primary topics, and sentiment.
  • Immediately flag newly discovered communities with significant volume, negative sentiment, or brand risk.
  • Utilize social media management platform listening tools to supplement manual discovery audits, expanding keyword libraries and platform coverage as new communities are identified.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience leading social media strategy and managing a team of specialists.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive content strategies and channel roadmaps across multiple social media platforms.
  • Strong understanding of user-generated content (UGC) strategies, influencer marketing, and brand ambassador program development.
  • Expertise in social media governance, process compliance, and workflow management.
  • Hands-on experience with social media management platforms, including administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in social media performance reporting, data analysis, and identifying key insights.
  • Excellent cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify and track online communities and brand sentiment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with the identification and implementation of AI-powered tools, automation workflows, and agent-based solutions to streamline roadmapping, content calendar development, and opportunity identification across assigned channels.
