The Marine Technician delivers an exceptional service experience for all customers by performing high-quality maintenance and repair work at a fair price, while adhering to customer time frames. This position plays a key role in ensuring that every boat leaving our shop is lake-ready and performing at its best.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Diagnose, service, and repair inboards, I/O’s, and outboards both in the shop and on the water
- Perform scheduled maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, winterizations, and summerizations
- Complete repairs and installations such as:
- Fuel system cleaning
- Engine and outdrive R&R
- Custom stereo, jack plates, and tower installations
- Lake test boats to verify functionality, diagnose issues, and confirm successful repairs
- Communicate effectively with the Service Coordinator regarding diagnostics, parts needs, and repair progress
- Maintain accurate time and service records
- Keep work area and tools clean, organized, and in proper working condition
- Assist with boat show preparation and move-in as needed
- Attend manufacturer and service training annually to maintain certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Boating experience and a valid boater’s license are preferred
- 2 years of experience in marine or automotive service preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude.
