This purpose of this role is to support the Skidmore Enterprise Supply Chain Program through consolidation of responsibilities in both freight and supply chain network management. This team member is expected to apply continuous improvement techniques to improve their job functions with the assistance of the Supply Chain Manager. Success in this role will require delivering quality results to both internal and external stakeholders while staying laser focused on leveraging Logistics to solve our customer's problems.
Position Details:
Freight Management
- With their peers- partner with internal and external stakeholders to manage needed aspects of freight booking, invoicing, reconciliation, and auditing.
- Use the TMS system to schedule shipments, resolve issues, and perform freight invoice auditing.
- Collaborate with other departments to solve transportation issues affecting supplier & customer delivery and create cost effective solutions for shipments to warehouses.
- Complete filing, reporting, and resolution of freight claims.
Supply Chain Network Administration & Procurement
- With the help of the Supply Chain Manager, maintain accountability for Skidmore stock stored within the Skidmore Sales & Distribution Warehousing Network.
- Maintain efficient inventory levels by analyzing usage data and issuing purchase orders where necessary.
- Monitor changes in demand and slow-moving products.
- Maintain receipt and shipment documentation and reconcile the stock levels of third-party warehousing facilities.
- Review and audit third party warehouse invoices in a timely manner.
- Work with Supply Chain partners and maintain relationships that benefit customers.
- Participate and provide positive input to team meetings, problem solving sessions, and inter-departmental process improvement.

Shift and Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8 AM – 5 PM
- Overtime after 40 hours

Qualifications:Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or comparable education is preferred but not required.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in a related field preferred.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Learn and apply continuous improvement techniques.
- Experience working with a Sage or a similar ERP system is preferred.
- Experience working with a Transportation Management System is advantageous.
- Participate in problem solving to make work easier and reduce complexity.
- Cooperate with other departments to serve our customers.
- Calm, organized, patient, diplomatic, and confident demeanor in working with Skidmore staff.
- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all work
- Ability to prioritize own wide-ranging workload and work independently.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to internal and external customers.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, vendors, and customers.
