Ski Pro Assistant Store Manager

Ski Pro – Mesa, Arizona
Pay: $19–$21 per hour
Hours: 35–40 hours per week

Ski Pro in Mesa is looking for an Assistant Store Manager who has knowledge of snow skis, ski clothing, winter accessories, or the ski and snowboard industry. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the outdoor lifestyle, likes working with customers, and is comfortable helping lead a retail team.

You do not need to know everything on day one, but you should be excited to learn about the products we carry and become a strong resource for both customers and employees.

Current Schedule Through October

This position will work approximately 35–40 hours per week.

Monday: Off
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday–Saturday: 10:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
Sunday: 10:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Please note: Ski Pro changes to winter store hours beginning in October. The Assistant Store Manager's schedule and store hours will change at that time based on the needs of the winter season.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will help keep the store organized, customers taken care of, and the team moving in the right direction each day.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Opening and closing the store
• Helping manage employees and daily store operations
• Assigning employees daily tasks and making sure they are completed
• Training and helping develop new employees
• Overseeing the ski department, clothing department, or both depending on experience
• Helping customers with skis, ski clothing, accessories, and other products
• Learning about the products throughout the store so you can better assist customers and employees
• Making sure the sales floor stays clean, organized, stocked, and ready for customers
• Making sure store bathrooms are cleaned and maintained daily
• Receiving and organizing incoming shipments
• Assisting with customer returns and warranty issues
• Helping the Ski Pro web department when needed
• Helping in the rental department as needed
• Helping in the ski and snowboard repair department as needed
• Assisting the Store Manager with additional responsibilities as needed

This is a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who is willing to jump in wherever needed rather than simply supervise from the sidelines.

What We're Looking For

• Knowledge of snow skis, ski clothing, winter accessories, or the ski/snowboard industry
• A genuine interest in skiing, snowboarding, outdoor sports, or the mountain lifestyle
• Previous retail experience
• Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable giving employees direction and following up on assigned tasks
• Dependable and able to work independently
• Organized and able to manage several responsibilities at once
• Willing to learn about new products and equipment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
• Available to work the required Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule
• Flexibility to transition into Ski Pro's winter schedule beginning in October

Physical Requirements

This is an active retail position and may require:

• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Bending, reaching, and stocking merchandise
• Using step ladders
• Lifting and carrying boxes, skis, snowboards, clothing, and other merchandise
• Helping move and organize incoming shipments
