Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role works cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams to optimize manufacturing operations, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and workflows.
Analyze production methods and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower manufacturing costs.
Support new product launches by developing process documentation, work instructions, and production standards.
Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve process-related quality issues.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
Monitor production performance through data analysis and recommend process improvements.
Participate in equipment selection, installation, validation, and commissioning activities.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Support capital expenditure projects and prepare cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements.
Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Maintain accurate engineering records, process specifications, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field.
3 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and industrial equipment.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing process design tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.

Required Qualifications

Experience with automation, robotics, CNC machining, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or other applicable quality management systems.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and process validation.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Frequent walking, standing, and observation of production processes.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the production floor.
