Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to design, build, and implement 5S throughout the factory. In this position you will have the opportunity to provide vision and support for 5S implementation; facilitate improvement efforts (5S, Kiazen, etc.). You will contribute to problem solving efforts.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited to:
- Train employees in 5S/Kiazen concepts/principles.
- Develop effective training materials, tools, and resources.
- Prepare/install visual postings for 5S and improvements (signs, markings, etc.).
- Facilitate and participate in ongoing improvement projects involving 5S, Kiazen, etc.
- Coordinate with leadership to implement projects (5S, Kiazen, etc.).
- Develop an annual strategy for improvements and projects.
- Monitor 5S/Kiazen/improvement projects to mitigate any obstacles.
- Establishes metrics to monitor/sustain improvements (inspections, audits, etc.).
- Audit factory and office areas to ensure compliance/sustainment.
- Participate in problem solving throughout the factory/office to provide physical/visual solutions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to build/install solutions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3-5 years 5S/Project management experience.
- Specialized training in 5S, Kiazen, and project management preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Experienced with hand tools and power tools.
- High competency with process improvement.
- Works well on a team as well as independently.
