What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family & Administrative Assistant position at SKE Construction, LLC?
Family & Administrative Assistant
Part-Time/Full-Time | 30–40 hours per week | Family-Owned Construction Company
We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, organized, and flexible Family & Administrative Assistant to become a long-term part of our family and family-owned construction business.
This is a unique position that combines administrative assistant work, personal/family assistance, errands, and eventually infant childcare. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable helping wherever needed.
What the position looks like initially
For the first several months, the position will primarily involve administrative work for our construction company, along with helping the owners with personal and household tasks.
Responsibilities may include:
- General administrative and office support
- Scheduling and calendar management
- Answering phones, emails, and messages
- Filing, organizing paperwork, and data entry
- Helping with basic bookkeeping/office organization
- Running business and personal errands
- Picking up supplies, groceries, orders, etc.
- Helping with indoor and outdoor projects around the home
- Organizing closets, rooms, paperwork, or other areas as needed
- Helping the owners with miscellaneous tasks and projects
We are looking for someone who is proactive and doesn’t mind doing a little bit of everything. Some days may be primarily office work, while other days may involve errands, organizing, or helping with a project.
The position will transition after the baby arrives
We are expecting a baby, and approximately 7 months from now, the position will temporarily shift to include much more infant care and family assistance.
Initially, following the arrival of the baby, the position will include additional family and household support along with infant care while the family adjusts to the new schedule.
As the position transitions back into the workplace, infant care will become a larger component of the role during working hours, while administrative responsibilities will temporarily become secondary.
We anticipate this increased childcare responsibility lasting approximately 6 months, after which the position will transition back toward primarily administrative, personal, and family assistance.
The ideal person
We are looking for someone who:
- Is dependable, trustworthy, and responsible
- Loves babies and children
- Has experience caring for infants
- Is comfortable around a newborn
- Is organized and detail-oriented
- Can work independently without needing constant direction
- Is comfortable wearing many different hats
- Doesn’t mind errands, household tasks, or outdoor projects
- Is willing to help wherever needed
- Has a positive, easygoing personality
- Is looking for a long-term position, not just temporary work
- Has reliable transportation
- Is comfortable working in both an office and home environment
Nanny, childcare, administrative assistant, executive assistant, or personal assistant experience is a plus.
Schedule
30–40 hours per week, with the exact schedule to be discussed.
We are looking for someone who can become a trusted and dependable part of our family and business. This is not a traditional office job or traditional nanny position — it is a combination of both, and the responsibilities will evolve as our family grows.
