Skaneateles Country Club is seeking motivated individuals to join our grounds crew for the upcoming season. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors on a high-end golf course while gaining hands-on experience in turf management.
Position Overview
This role is physically demanding and best suited for individuals who enjoy being active and working outside. Crew members can expect to walk 5 miles per day while performing a variety of tasks essential to maintaining top-level playing conditions.
This is not a high-stress job, but it does require consistency, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Showing up on time and ready to work every day is critical.
Responsibilities
· Mowing greens, tees, and fairways
- Raking bunkers and course setup
- String trimming, blowing, and general course cleanup
- Hand watering and irrigation tasks
- Assisting with aerification and other cultural practices
- Operating small equipment and utility vehicles
Requirements
· Ability to perform physical labor daily (walking, lifting, bending, early mornings)
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- No prior golf course experience required; training provided
Schedule and Perks
· Early morning shifts (typically 5:00–5:30 AM start)
- 40 hours guaranteed with strong overtime potential during peak season
- Consistent schedule with early finish times
