Head of Content (AI / Research-Led Startup)

We’re hiring a Head of Content to own and define the external narrative for a fast-growing, research-driven AI company.

This is a foundational role. You won’t be polishing an existing brand or managing a large team; you’ll be shaping how the company explains what it does, why it matters, and why anyone should care, at a moment when the story is still being written.

Our product sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI research and real-world deployment, and the bar for clarity and credibility is high.

The right person can translate complex technical work into narratives that resonate with builders, buyers, and the broader AI ecosystem, without hype.

What you’ll do

• Own the company’s external voice end-to-end: positioning, messaging, and narrative
• Write and shape long-form content, thought leadership, launches, and core site copy
• Work directly with founders, researchers, and engineers to turn complex work into clear stories
• Help define what this category is
• Build early content systems and workflows while staying hands-on
• Decide what not to say as much as what to say

What we’re looking for

• Exceptional writing and editorial judgment
• Experience translating technical products (AI, developer tools, infra, research-heavy systems) into credible narratives
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and building from first principles
• Strong taste. you know when something is oversold, vague, or wrong
• Ownership mindset: you ship, iterate, and figure things out without waiting for permission
• Experience in early-stage or high-intensity environments is a big plus

What this role is (and isn’t)

• This is a hands-on, founder-adjacent role with real influence
• This is not a content-factory or people-management role (yet)
• This is about clarity, leverage, and trust, not volume or growth hacks
