Job Summary (Dishwasher: Full Time, Seasonal)
- The dishwasher is responsible for efficient cleaning and proper sanitation and storage of all restaurant wares, including dining, glass, and kitchenware, utensils and equipment. May assist in supportive tasks such as portion prep, table bussing, janitorial duties if/as needed
- This is a seasonal position running mid-April through mid-October, based on the busyness of the cruise ship season
- Possible opportunity to arrive earlier and/or stay later
- Resume and 3 professional references required at application
- Properly stack, sort and wash all soiled wares by using dishwashing machine or by hand if needed
- Accurately organize and store all washed items in correct assigned locations
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain dishwashing machine; refill cleaning agents as needed
- Manage cleanliness and organization of dish pit, freight and food storage areas, including removal of trash, compost, cardboard, recycling, reporting any kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to the manager on duty on immediately
- Perform opening/closing procedures as assigned
- Closing duties may include sweeping and mopping dining rooms or stairwell
- Maintain and follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Assist with supportive tasks mentioned in Job Summary
- Adhere to safety guidelines, using caution in proper lifting techniques, handling knives, and operating machinery
- Efficiently communicate with all staff clearly and respectfully
- Must be available either 8am-4pm OR 11am-7pm
- Must be 18 years old
- Must be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work with and as a team member
- Follow directions
- Possess thorough attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable to quickly changing demands
- Able to do repetitive work, withstand hot temperatures, stand for long periods
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours a day & lift large boxes/bags weighing 50 lbs
- Must have or obtain: State of Alaska TAPs Card and Managerial Food Handler’s Card
