Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing and account reconciliation documentation.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounting by recording journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivable, and performing account analysis.
- Conduct double-entry bookkeeping to ensure all debits and credits are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Assist with budgeting processes and perform account analysis to support financial planning efforts.
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheets, and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure data integrity.
- Manage tax-related entries, and handle governmental accounting requirements with precision.
- Utilize accounting software and other financial tools to manage transactions efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or staff accountant role.
- Experience with governmental accounting practices and tax compliance is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and prepare financial reports accurately.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable management is essential.
- Hands-on familiarity with popular accounting software and other financial management tools.
