The Project Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and tracking projects throughout the healthcare system, including but not limited to communications, marketing and organizational development projects. The position will provide planning for project management; aligning the skills and resources, internal and external, needed to achieve the objective; will monitor, manage and track progress of implementation and review by stakeholders to completion. The position is responsible for communication with customers and providers across the system, serving as a liaison to manage projects ranging from marketing campaigns, communications plans and digital programs. This position will encourage timely, accurate and complete communication by and between all stakeholders. The person in this position will delegate projects to internal and external resources, set and manage timelines, coordinate and track projects through to completion. This positions supports and ensures maintenance of Skagit Regional Health branding standards.
Essential Functions
Serves as a key leader and member of the Communications, Marketing and Organizational Development team, responsible for planning, assignment, managing and tracking communications, marketing and organizational development projects throughout the healthcare system. Works as a liaison with all levels of the organization across diverse areas to advance communications, marketing and organizational development. Uses strong organizational and time management skills to ensure successful and timely project and plan completion. Responsible for the oversight of projects: Accepts project requests from system stakeholders; takes requests forward for consideration by the team; assigns projects to internal or external resources; tracks project progress; and keeps records and archive of completion. In concert with the Regional Director of Communications and Organizational Development, maintains the annual communications, marketing and organizational development calendar to ensure timely initiation, work and completion of projects and communications plans; and makes sure programming remains within budget. Maintains strong communications and relationships with external vendors, including graphic design, digital marketing, wayfinding, signage, and print providers. Provides reports, data and updates on a regular basis, from internal and external sources. Serves as a member of the Public Information Officer team and is part of the on-call PIO rotation. Participates in performance, process and quality improvement initiatives as requested. Complies with organizational policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by Director or designee.
Education
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or project management, required.
Experience/Training
Previous experience initiating, developing and implementing communications, marketing and organizational development strategies and projects, required. Prior experience in healthcare related field strongly preferred.
License/Certifications
Project Management Institute (PMI), Lean Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM) certification preferred.
Other Skills
Exceptional writing, editing and interpersonal communications skills required. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with service standards. Graphic design skills. Proficient with the full suite of Microsoft Office and Adobe programs. Familiarity with digital, social, intranet and website platforms and content management systems and the system’s Print Shop. Ability to manage multiple competing objectives. Strong organizational and coordination skills, ability to develop and adhere to time schedules in order to meet project deadlines. Ability to lead others and to communicate the importance of the project to stakeholders. Understands principles of change management and user adoption. Ability to consistently demonstrate positive communication style, strong critical thinking skills and a creative and collaborative approach to problem solving required. Approach problems constructively by focusing on how to move the project forward.

Repetitive tasks such as typing, sitting, answering phones, and interacting with computers and computer systems most of the day is a function of the position. This position requires working in an indoor, environmentally controlled environment when in the office.
