Job Summary
The Manager works under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Director. The Manger will function in a leadership role supervising staff members in Respiratory Therapy, & ABG Lab. The manger Collaborates closely with leadership to develop and implement business plans to achieve near and long-term corporate goals, is responsible for the management and operations of SRH Respiratory Therapy. Responsible for implementation of strategic planning, program development, clinical and operational quality improvement, financial/budget reporting and monitoring, and staff supervision. The Manager will partner effectively with staff and providers to develop programs to attain the highest levels of patient focused care, provide leadership, direction and administration of all aspects of departmental and laboratory activities to ensure accomplishment of organizational objectives.
Essential Functions
Program and Business Management: Responsible for strategic growth and business development. Monitors and benchmarks productivities and efficiencies for optimizing practice revenue. Coordinate in center and out of center diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities. Effective planning, budgeting and time management ability required to carry out department responsibilities. Maintain accurate, pertinent, accessible, confidential and secure patient records in accordance with privacy and security standards. Ensure proper licensure, registration or certification of staff. Performance management including coaching, performance improvement, evaluations and terminations in accordance with organizational and departmental guidelines and policies. Responsible for the effective hiring, orientation, supervision and training of staff. Conducts training and orientation of new employees in coordination with the Training Department. Plans and organizes departmental staff and provider meetings. Accurately manage staff timecard(s) utilizing the electronic time keeping system in accordance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Develop and implement quality assurance/improvement activities and staff training. Service Management and Essential Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills required. The ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with physicians, non-physician providers, and staff while addressing complex and sensitive administrative, operational and financial issues. Complies with all department and SRH policies and procedures. Enhance patient experience through service recovery. Maintain current CPR or BLS certification. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the pathophysiology of Cardiopulmonary, vascular access and associated comorbidities Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy. Demonstrate teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers. Performs other duties as assigned. Assist the Respiratory Therapy Director in all aspects of operations.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy & holds RRT credential. Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory care/healthcare administration or related field. Master’s degree highly preferred.
Experience/Training
Minimum five (5) years of hospital Respiratory Care experience and demonstrated leadership abilities. Prior operations management experience required. Specialized technical and clinical knowledge of respiratory therapy, vascular access, and associated equipment is required.
License/Certifications
Washington State Respiratory Therapy License required. Current AHA (American Heart Association) Health Care Provider ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. Current American Academy of Pediatrics & American Heart Association Provider Neonatal Resuscitation Certification is required. PALS required within 6 months of hire.
Other Skills
Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills. Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationship with patients, physicians, other staff and visitors. Additional skill sets in NPS, AE-C, CCE, CTI and VA-BC are beneficial.
