About the Position: We are seeking a motivated Healthcare Project Architect to lead architectural design and documentation in our Raleigh OR Charlotte NC office. This vital role involves managing the entire project lifecycle—from determining functional spatial needs with clients to overseeing on-site construction compliance. You will work in a creative, collaborative environment on high-impact healthcare projects that require a deep understanding of medical facility programming and cross-disciplinary integration.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead collaborative project teams, providing clear guidance and open communication to ensure high-performance design solutions and project success.
Client Programming: Work directly with customers to determine functional and spatial needs, equipment requirements, materials, anticipated costs, and construction timelines.
Design & Documentation: Create scale drawings and comprehensive contracts for construction; develop project layouts and integrated engineering solutions for client approval.
Technical Oversight: Manage junior designers’ drawings and specifications; establish and monitor discipline-specific programs to ensure technical accuracy and project momentum.
Construction Administration: Oversee construction contracts on-site to ensure plan compliance and design intent are met during the building phase.
Multi-Disciplinary Coordination: Work closely with internal engineering teams and external consultants; maintain project momentum through detailed meeting minutes and team updates.
Mentorship: Provide feedback and assistance to junior staff to support their skill and career development.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 10 years in the A/E industry, with at least 6 years as a licensed professional. Specific experience in healthcare projects is required.
Licensure: State Architectural License and NCARB Certification are required.
Education: Five-year Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.
Logistics: U.S. Citizenship is required (Federal Contractor status); ability to travel up to 20% depending on project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: LEED AP or other sustainability-related credentials.
