We are seeking a full-time HERS Rater to join our team on-site in Decatur, GA. The HERS Rater will perform energy audits, blower door tests, duct leakage testing, and field inspections for new and existing residential and commercial projects. Responsibilities include evaluating energy efficiency measures, ensuring compliance with energy codes, performing inspections for green building certifications, and compiling reports to communicate findings. The role involves collaboration with builders and design teams to meet energy efficiency targets and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance.
- Experience with energy audits, Home Energy Rating System (HERS) ratings, and building diagnostics using tools like blower doors and duct blasters.
- Knowledge of building science, energy efficiency principles, and energy code compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in data analysis, energy modeling software, and reporting for green building certifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- HERS Rater certification is required; additional certifications such as LEED AP, BPI, or EarthCraft are a plus.
- Familiarity with related programs like ENERGY STAR, LEED, NGBS, or equivalent is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to project sites as needed.
