About the Program: The San José State University Women’s Club Lacrosse Team is a competitive D2 program open to players of all experience levels. Our mission is to grow the sport of lacrosse, build a strong community, compete with heart, and have fun doing it. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where athletes can develop their skills, form lasting friendships, and strive for success on and off the field.
Role Description We are seeking a passionate and motivated Head Coach to lead the Women’s Club Lacrosse Team at San José State University. The Head Coach will be responsible for all aspects of team leadership, including skill development, practice planning, in-game strategy, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. This is a part-time, seasonal position contracted for one academic year (fall and spring semesters), reporting to the team’s executive board.
Our practice times are 8:30-10:00PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Throughout fall will be our pre-season training and spring will be our official season.
Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience (preferably in women’s lacrosse) and playing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop athletes across skill levels.
- Must pass a background check and submit the following: Valid photo ID, W-9 tax form, Proof of health insurance
