Painter

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking reliable Painters to work full time for SJS Executives supporting ongoing facilities maintenance operations at a local Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in San Francisco.

SJS Executives is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; we specialize in professional services to support federal and military organizations.

The Pay for this position is expected to be $57/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, fit, and install soft flooring systems including carpet, linoleum, vinyl, cork, rubber, LVT, and VCT


• Prepare subfloors through cleaning, patching, leveling, and smoothing to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality


• Install underlayment and apply adhesives in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards


• Cut and install flooring materials to precise dimensions, including seams, edges, and penetrations


• Install transition strips, moldings, and trim to complete flooring systems


• Perform subsurface preparation for floors, walls, and ceilings prior to final finishes


• Install and modify ceiling systems (acoustical and hard lid), including grid repair and replacement


• Perform brush and roller painting at a journeyman level for interior and exterior applications


• Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, patching, caulking, and priming


• Apply paints, sealers, and coatings to achieve uniform coverage and long-term durability


• Match existing paint colors and finishes for renovation and repair work


• Identify surface defects and complete necessary repairs prior to coating application


• Apply multi-coat paint systems in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer guidelines


• Protect adjacent surfaces and maintain clean, organized work areas during finishing operations


• Interpret finish schedules, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements


• Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality application

Qualifications:

• Minimum four (4) years of experience as a painter.


• In accordance with federal regulations, possession of a valid Real ID is a requirement for this position.


• Must satisfy all additional federal, VA, and facility-specific credentialing requirements.


• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
