Job Overview
SJKP, LLP handles a broad scope of matters, including corporate law, commercial litigation, international transactions, real estate, and immigration. We are committed to providing exceptional service from the client’s very first interaction. We are seeking a qualified, knowledgeable and personable attorney who can respond to legal inquiries, assist prospective clients, and facilitate client intake and engagement.
The primary role of the Intake Attorney is to contact prospective clients who have submitted legal inquiries, assist them with initial consultations, and secure engagement agreements. For clients who cannot visit the office, consultations and intake procedures will be conducted via phone or Zoom.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Consultations & Engagement: Provide legal guidance tailored to clients’ needs, present appropriate legal solutions, and connect them with the appropriate attorney. Facilitate engagement agreement execution.
- Legal Strategy & Risk Assessment: Offer legal insights regarding optimal strategies for clients’ situations and evaluate potential legal risks.
- Promote the Firm’s Capabilities: Clearly articulate the firm’s strengths, manage client expectations, and guide prospective clients toward engagement.
- Client Communication: Address client concerns, respond to inquiries, and maintain open communication regarding case status and next steps.
- Explain Legal Processes: Clearly and professionally explain legal procedures and case eligibility in understandable language.
- Consultations via Zoom/Phone/In-Office: Build trust with prospective clients and support conversion of prospective clients into active clients.
- Collaboration: Work with intake specialists and paralegals to provide legal insight and ensure smooth workflow.
Require Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school, or an LL.M. from an accredited law school (J.D. preferred)
- Licensed attorney with prior law firm experience (Experience in corporate law, immigration law, criminal law, and family law is preferred.)
- Admission to the New York State Bar (additional state bar admissions are a plus)
- Strong writing skills and proficiency with basic computer applications
- Ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously with strong client-service skills
Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, strong academic credentials, outstanding research and writing abilities, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively and manage team interactions. Practical litigation-related experience is required.
Salary information: $93,600~117,000
(Adjustments based on skills, experience and performance.)
