SJH Derm is expanding, and we're looking for an enthusiastic Mohs Medical Assistant to join our growing team! The position requires travel to all 4 of our locations. To assist with travel, we offer a $100 travel stipend for trips to our Gurnee and Skokie locations. As a dynamic group of four dermatology offices, we are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work across all our locations. Candidates must have reliable transportation.
Job Overview: As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting providers and other medical staff by performing both administrative and clinical duties, all while delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Check in patients and escort them to and from exam rooms
- Document medical records accurately, including ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records
- Prepare and clean exam rooms as needed
- Disinfect patient rooms after each exam
- Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to standard procedures and legal regulations
- Assist with Mohs surgery procedures
- Assist with patient suture removals
- Follow up with patients to review test results
- Process and send prescriptions to the correct pharmacy
- Complete consent forms accurately
- Collect specimens and blood samples for lab processing
- Sterilize and clean medical instruments
- Support providers during exams and procedures by handling instruments and ensuring a sterile environment
