Controller
Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. is looking for a talented Controller to step into our fast-paced facility!
Summary: Responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers (SJFMC), overseeing all accounting operations and the overall financial health of the health center. This position requires a deep knowledge of third-party reimbursement and complex healthcare regulations. The Controller is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, the maintenance of internal controls, overseeing audits, budgeting, cash flow, and costs. The Controller must also be committed to the mission of SJFMC.
Hours: This is a full-time exempt position.
Position Responsibilities/Duties
· Ensures the timely & accurate preparation and
dissemination of all internal and external financial reports,
including financial statements, income statements, and cash flow
reports
· Leads and mentors the fiscal team, supervision
functions like accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll,
purchasing and general ledger maintenance
· Coordinates
the preparation of annual and monthly grant budgets and financial
forecasts, for the entire organization and by health center site and
department, noting and explaining variances, and providing timely
reports to leadership
· Coordinates the preparation and
timely completion of federal, state, and other grant applications with
other members of the senior team
· Develops and enforces
policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure
compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and grant
requirements
· Manages regulatory reporting, including
Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers and tax filings (federal, state
and local), and 340B.
· Maintains an accurate general
ledger of all subsidiary accounts on a current basis

Oversees cash flow to maintain a stable a cash position and to ensure
available cash for disbursements
· Oversees patient
billing, medical coding accuracy, and collections to ensure efficient
cash flow from insurance companies and patients

Oversees preparation of the Medicaid wraparound and ensures report is
completed accurately and timely
· Ensures FQHC report is
completed accurately and on time
· Coordinates audits by
gathering records for both standard financial and administrative
healthcare specific audits, communicates with external auditors and
manages levels of audit adjustments
· Stay current on the
business, economic and technical aspects of financial management
through attendance at seminars, association meetings, and training
sessions
· Partners with clinical and operational leaders
to provide strategic financial analysis and plans that improve health
center performances, establishes measurable goals and
objectives
· Provides financial insights and data
analysis to the CFO or executive team to support strategic
decision-making
· Perform other related tasks assigned by
the CFO or CEO
