Position Overview
SJ International Development is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Project Development Assistant to support land development and site design projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to the full development lifecycle, from concept planning and permitting through construction coordination.
The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a real estate development environment. Mandarin Chinese and English bilingual proficiency is required due to cross-border project coordination.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Development Support
- Assist in reviewing civil site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred not required)
- Assist review quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and construction documentation
- Coordinate with civil engineers, consultants, contractors, and project managers
- Research zoning ordinances and support entitlement and permitting processes
- Prepare agency submittals and track approvals
- Participate in site visits to observe construction progress and field conditions
Assist in reviewing shop drawings and construction schedules
Project & Administrative Coordination
- Prepare meeting materials and take meeting minutes
Maintain organized project documentation and filing systems
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and tracking project milestones
- Support communication between English- and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
Qualifications
- Mandarin Chinese and English bilingual (spoken and written) required
- Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in civil site design, land development, and construction coordination
- Internship or construction-related experience preferred but not required
