Role Description This is a part-time hybrid Video Editor role based in Des Moines, IA, with flexibility for some work from home. The Video Editor will assemble and edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos for a variety of clients and platforms. Day-to-day tasks include organizing media, selecting and sequencing clips, refining audio, applying color correction, and integrating motion graphics and titles. The role also involves collaborating with the creative lead to interpret project briefs, maintain brand and visual consistency, and deliver on deadlines. The Video Editor will export final deliverables in appropriate formats, manage project files, and provide creative input to enhance storytelling and visual impact.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Video Editing and Video Production, including assembling footage, refining narratives, and preparing content for multiple platforms.
- Proficiency in Video Color Grading to ensure consistent, professional visuals that support mood and brand guidelines.
- Experience with Motion Graphics and Graphics to create titles, lower thirds, simple animations, and on-brand visual elements.
- Proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve); familiarity with Adobe After Effects is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a hybrid setting with both in-person and remote collaboration.
- Strong visual storytelling skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high production quality.
- Effective communication skills and openness to feedback and iterative creative processes.
- Previous experience in agency, freelance, or client-facing video work is preferred; a portfolio or demo reel is required
