Sixth Avenue Baptist Church (Birmingham, AL) is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Youth Leader with creative energy and a heart for helping middle and high school students discover Jesus, build a strong foundation of faith, and grow as leaders in the church and community.
This role is ideal for a college or seminary student pursuing youth-related studies or a young professional with youth experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Mentor and build meaningful relationships with students
- Teach and lead Youth Church, Bible studies, and small group
- Create engaging, relevant lessons and games that connect Scripture to everyday life
- Support student's spiritual growth and model healthy decision-making
- Organize youth events, retreats, and service projects
- Assist Director of Children & Youth with planning, scheduling, and communication
Qualifications:
- Passion for youth ministry and discipleship
- Experience working with adolescents in church, school, or urban community setting
- Strong relational and communication skills
- Commitment to Christian faith and spiritual growth
- Willingness to learn, grow, and collaborate as part of a ministry team
Time Commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours per week (including Sundays, midweek evenings, and occasional weekends)
