We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our restoration team.
Job Summary:
As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for custom metalwork and fabrication tasks related to the restoration and customization of classic and vintage vehicles. This includes sheet metal shaping, panel replacement, chassis modifications, and welding. The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive metalwork and takes pride in precise, high-quality work.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, cut, weld, and fit metal components for vehicle restoration projects
- Replace or repair rusted/damaged panels and structural components
- Build and modify brackets, frames, and mounting systems
- Work with MIG and TIG welding processes on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Collaborate with restoration techs, painters, and body specialists to ensure high standards
- Read blueprints, schematics, and restoration plans
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Document progress and communicate with team leads on project timelines
Qualifications:
- 3 years of automotive fabrication experience (classic or custom car restoration a major plus)
- Proficient in MIG and TIG welding
- Skilled in using fabrication tools such as English wheels, shrinkers/stretchers, bead rollers, plasma cutters, and brake presses
- Ability to fabricate panels and parts from scratch when necessary
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
- Passion for vintage and custom vehicles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-end or show-quality restoration work
- Knowledge of suspension and frame modification
- Automotive or technical certification(s)
