Job Title: Boat Captain
Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Offshore Operations)
Compensation: $550/day (Lodging provided; per diem available for travel as required by the client)
About the Role: Six Maritime is seeking skilled and motivated Boat Captains to support U.S. Navy Research and Development operations off the coast of Virginia Beach. This role offers a unique opportunity to operate dual-outboard small boats (25–30 feet) in support of next-generation naval platform testing.
You will work closely with naval personnel and industry experts in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain small boats (25–30 feet, dual outboard powered) in nearshore and offshore environments.
- Conduct vessel operations in support of Navy R&D missions, including training evolutions, platform testing, and offshore support tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Provide routine vessel inspections, basic maintenance, and report issues as needed.
- Coordinate with Navy staff and Six Maritime leadership to execute daily mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating small boats (dual outboard, 25–30 feet).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.
- U.S. citizen (required to support Navy operations).
- Must provide proof of personal liability insurance (required prior to working).
- Ability to work flexible schedules based on mission needs.
- Strong seamanship, navigation, and situational awareness skills.
- Must have a minimum of an OUPV license.
Compensation & Benefits
- Daily Rate: $550/day.
