Summary of Job: The Area Manager of Security serves as a frontline leader with primary responsibility for our Security and Loss Prevention operation. The position also oversees Safety and First Aid operations, including emergency medical response, safety training, regulatory compliance, and incident management. the primary focus is ensuring the security, safety, and well-being of guests and employees. The successful candidate must possess, or be able to obtain, the necessary certifications and licenses required to lead emergency response efforts and support the overall Public Safety operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of key Security and Loss Prevention programs
- Manage compliance standards and completion of documentation records
- Support and enforce Risk Management Policies, Safety Initiatives and Security SOPs.
- Ensure ongoing development of Security and Loss Prevention personnel to achieve a high performing team culture.
- Provide and coordinate departmental training to meet and comply with company Safety, Security, and Loss Prevention standards.
- Collaborate with all park management and key park personnel on Security practices.
- Formulate action plans and analyze data/trends to drive continuous performance improvements and incident reduction.
- Responsible for assisting in developing an operating budget for the department, managing expenditures.
- Maintain documentation as required by internal guidelines and state mandates, if applicable
- Maintain Parkwide Document Retention program.
- Serve as Park Duty Manager as assigned
- Act as liaison with outside law enforcement agencies and other related civic and community organizations.
- Responsible for Security-related investigations and reporting.
- Responsible for all departmental staffing functions, including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, workforce planning, and maintaining adequate staffing levels. Oversees the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of departmental training programs to support employee performance, compliance, and professional development.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum Age: 21
- Previous Security Management experience required (2 years)
- Self-driven and resourceful professional with the ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations.
- Proven flexibility and ability to operate in an evolving work environment while driving change initiatives.
- Excellent written, verbal, computer and presentation skills.
- Willingness to work extended shifts, nights and weekends regularly
- Ability to obtain a St. Louis County Security License
