We are seeking a motivated and dependable Local CDL A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed cargo, tankers, or roll-off containers using appropriate equipment like forklifts or other tools when necessary
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal safety and compliance with company policies
- Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while maintaining fuel efficiency and safety standards
- Assist with load & unload procedures, ensuring cargo is handled carefully to prevent damage or accidents
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmission preferred
- Experience operating different types of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks
- Strong knowledge of freight handling, load securing techniques, and safety protocols for commercial driving
- Ability to drive tractor-trailers confidently over local routes with precision and professionalism
- Skilled in using equipment such as forklifts for loading/unloading when necessary
- Excellent route planning skills to optimize delivery times and ensure timely arrivals
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and customers effectively
