With approximately 250 employees and multiple functional departments, this is the largest and most complex brand in the portfolio. The platform is actively investing in operational excellence, leadership development, and growth across its national footprint.
This is a business that has already achieved significant scale. What it needs now is a GM who can lead through leaders — someone with true multi-unit caliber who can set the standard for what operational excellence looks like across the entire platform.
The Role
You own the full P&L for a ~$90M business with seven direct reports leading departments across service, install, sales, dispatch, and operations. You’re not managing technicians — you’re leading the leaders who manage them. Your job is to build organizational capability, set the operating rhythm, drive accountability through your leadership team, and ensure every department is aligned and executing against plan.
This is a lead-through-leaders role. At $90M with 250 employees, you cannot be in every meeting, on every call, or at every job site. The right GM builds a leadership bench that doesn’t need them in the room to execute. You set the vision, build the team, install the systems, and hold the standard. Your direct reports run the day-to-day. You run the business.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Full P&L ownership for the platform’s largest brand — a ~$90M multi-trade residential home services business
- Leading and developing a team of seven department heads across service, install, sales, dispatch, warehouse, and operations
- Building organizational depth: hiring, developing, and retaining mid-level managers who can own their functions and scale with the business
- Setting and driving performance targets across revenue, margin, technician productivity, conversion rates, average ticket, and customer satisfaction
- Establishing and maintaining a disciplined operating rhythm — daily huddles at the department level, weekly leadership scorecards, monthly P&L reviews, quarterly strategic planning
- Diagnosing operational bottlenecks and implementing scalable process improvements across a 250-person organization
- Partnering with platform leadership on strategic initiatives, M&A integration, and best-practice development that shapes the playbook for other brands
- Making capital allocation decisions on fleet, equipment, facilities, technology, and headcount investments
- Representing the business with key customers, vendors, and community partners
Who You Are
You’ve led at this scale before. You’ve run a $50M operation — ideally $75M — with 150–300 employees and a management layer between you and the frontline. You know how to set strategy, cascade it through a leadership team, and hold people accountable to results without micromanaging. You’ve done this in home services, field services, or a closely adjacent industry.
You lead through leaders. This is the defining trait for this role. You don’t try to be the best technician, the best dispatcher, or the best closer. You hire people who are, and you make them better. You coach, you develop, you give hard feedback, and you build a team that operates at a high level whether you’re in the building or not.
Home services is your world. You understand residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical — the economics, the seasonality, the customer lifecycle, the labor dynamics, the dispatch model. Candidates with direct home services experience will be strongly prioritized. This is a nuanced industry, and at $90M there is no runway to learn it on the job.
You’re a systems thinker. At this scale, gut instinct isn’t enough. You build repeatable processes, you standardize workflows, and you create operating systems that let the business run consistently across departments. Experience that matters most:

- Proven track record leading through a management layer — managing managers, not just managing doers
- Experience building, developing, and retaining a leadership bench in a high-growth or high-complexity environment
- Multi-unit, multi-site, or multi-department operational experience with 150 employees
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan, Successware, or similar field service management platforms
- Experience in PE-backed, franchise, or multi-unit service environments (strongly preferred)
What matters less:
- A specific degree — we care about what you’ve built and the leaders you’ve developed, not where you went to school
- Having held the exact title of “General Manager” — if you’ve been a VP of Ops, Regional Director, Multi-Unit Leader, or COO at a comparable business, we want to talk
- Deep technical licensing — you don’t need to hold a journeyman card in every trade, but you need operational fluency across the service lines
