What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker Leader position at Sitka National Historical Park?
This position is a working leader assigned responsibility for building and utility maintenance work. The position provides daily direction to at least three (3) workers to accomplish trades work on a regular and recurring part of the job and exercised on a substantially full time and continuing basis. The highest level of work led is at the WG-08 level.

Responsibilities:
- Leads a crew of between 4-10 employees in performing maintenance and repair work to all park facilities (both historic and non-historic), grounds, roads, trails, and utilities.
- Demonstrates proper work methods and works along with others to set a pace.
- Ensures necessary plans, materials, supplies, equipment and tools are available when needed. Recommends operation needs per work requests to the supervisor.
- Ensures safety and housekeeping rules are followed, including holding routine safety meetings, performing Job Hazard Analyses, performs safety walk-arounds, and gives proper instruction on the use of personal protective equipment.
